Do Charity Car Washes Exploit Teen Girls?
Do your eyeballs a favor and subscribe to Bikini Beat's RSS feed. No nudity, no obscenity -- just beautiful women in bikinis. Safe for most workplaces.
They do according to Kimberly Gadette, a writer at Women’s eNews. Here’s an excerpt from her rant:
Ah, the sights of summer: movie lines snaking ’round the cineplex, kids splashing in wading pools and scantily clad young ladies at busy intersections holding hand-lettered signs reading “Car Wash Today!”
Bikinis are their work uniforms and their job is to dance, jiggle, wave and sing out; anything to lure customers to the fundraising car wash for their schools, youth clubs or churches. These teen queens’ acts of solicitation are more than merely tolerated; they’re fully sanctioned by their teachers, ministers and parents…
According to the Web site of Green Girls Global, an international pro-environment, people and animals group, “The car wash fundraiser is about as American as apple pie. I don’t know of a student, boy-girl scout, or church group that hasn’t participated in one.”
But with the young ladies dressed in no more that string-tied halter tops, shorts cut down-to-there while up-to-here, is this apple pie? Or, rather, underage cheesecake?
What do you think?

Gimme a break! Ms. Gadette takes a harmless thing and makes it sound sleazy. I hope she is proud of herself for making those girls feel slutty. Perhaps she should use a column mugshot that doesn’t show so much cleavage if she is concerned about females displaying their bodies. I’m sure she has never looked at a teenage boy and thought he was attractive. Ms. Gadette assumes that any man who stops for a car wash must be a pervert who is mentally raping the girls with his eyes. Does she expect someone to wash cars in Hillary-style pantsuits? A Muslim-style Burka? Would she rather they be reduced to begging at intersections rather than providing a valuable service? Why is someone always trying to make me feel bad for enjoying the sight of a pretty girl in a bikini? That’s just the way we’re built!
To me, the larger question is about these girls’ personal rights. After all, nobody is holding a gun to their heads and forcing them to do this. This website is testament to the fact that many girls enjoy the attention and the positive feelings. Personally, I wouldn’t go to one of these car washes, but if the girls are ok with it, so am I.
Teen carwashes are one of the highlights of summer … give us our teen cheesecake! The girls have fun, so where is the harm. So sick of the prudish world were living in. Perhaps Kimberly should lose some weight, start feeling better about herself and stop trying to bring everyone else down.
