A billboard featuring a bikini model’s torso in front of an American flag has been a source of controversy in Fort Walton Beach, Fla. According to a news report:
A billboard on Martin Luther King Boulevard that sports a curvy torso and the American flag is definitely an attention grabber … The advertisement for Destin Plastic Surgery depicts a bikini-clad woman against an American flag backdrop with the phrase “We Support Our Troops.”..
The ad was pulled from the advertising lineup of the Eglin Dispatch, one of Freedom Communications’ weekly military publications. “The general consensus was the ad might be considered offensive by some of the readers and it did not reflect the proper respect for the flag,” said Lois Walsh, a spokeswoman for Eglin Air Force Base.
Freedom Communications voluntarily decided to pull the ad from the Hurlburt Warrior, another military publication.
Dr. William Burden [of Destin Plastic Surgery] said many of his clients are military, including female officers and Army Rangers. He said the business wanted to show its gratitude to America’s troops. “I think our military is fabulous,” Burden said. “They do a lot of stuff to keep us safe.”

I just give the military wives a discount and pass on the billboard.
I think Old Glory never looked better, of course, there are also groups offended just by Old Glory herself - so, this doesn’t surprise me one bit. Basically, if you are doing something creative, you are going to offend someone these days - so, I say, let those puppies fly!
