The Turkish resort city of Alanya is weighing a ban on bikinis outside the beach.
“Alanya has been morally corrupted in the past months and residents are concerned about the situation. Tourists walk around the city wearing clothes that are only suitable for the beach. Some of them even wear clothes that we find inappropriate for the beach as well,” Councilman Hilmi Arıkan said.
“Foreign and domestic tourists who walk around on the streets, shopping centers and bazaars appear to be nearly naked with their attire, which reveals their whole body”…
Arıkan claimed this kind of behavior had the potential to create social unrest.
